Setting off to the unknown

The others arrived around mid-day and we sat around sorting out what documents we needed to take with us. My mum gave us a really nice meal and after saying goodbye to my family my dad gave all 4 of us a lift to Dover ferry port.

We were hitching outside the vehicle entrance as it was several hours after the footpassenger were stopped from travelling but we soon had our first lift which Tqansy and I let James and Lavinia take. We soon got another after a Policeman afirmed that ferrries run 24 hours and that we were fine to be hitching from where we were.

Our first lift (onto the ferry) was with a guy I trhink was called Naheem. He was going to see his kids in Brussels and hopefully get back together witrh his wife divorced 7 years ago. He was actually from Bradford and was exporting 2nd hand clothes baught in bulk from charity shops. He graded them and sold the containers to Pakistan and Africa.

We were on the ferry just after midnight and arrived in Calais at 2.30 local time.
